Visual motor integration (VMI) refers to the ability to coordinate visual information with motor skills, enabling individuals to perform tasks that require hand-eye coordination, such as writing, drawing, and catching. The development of VMI skills is influenced by genetics, environment, and practice. Individuals with strong VMI skills tend to perform better in sports, music, and other activities that require coordination. The cerebellum, basal ganglia, and prefrontal cortex are involved in the process of visual motor integration. VMI skills can be improved through practice and training.
